Summer has certainly arrived at Longside Lake!
With the recent heatwave bringing plenty of sunshine, we've loved welcoming so many of you to the lake, whether you've been swimming, paddleboarding, enjoying the café, relaxing in the sauna or learning to waterski and wakeboard.
It's been one of our busiest periods of the year so far, and we'd like to thank everyone who has visited and helped make the lake such a fantastic place to spend time this summer.
A Magical Summer Solstice Swim
One of the highlights of the month was our Summer Solstice Sunset Swim. As the sun set over the lake, swimmers enjoyed a peaceful evening in the water, celebrating the longest day of the year together.
Events like these are what make Longside Lake so special – bringing together our amazing community in a beautiful setting. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and if you missed it, don't worry! We have plenty more events planned throughout the summer.
Meet Some New Faces Around the Lake
As the season gets busier, we're excited to welcome several new members to the Longside Lake and CJM Ski & Wake team.
A warm welcome to Amelie, Lola, Carly, Gracie and Elliot and Julius, who have all joined us across a variety of roles around the lake.
From welcoming visitors and supporting activities to helping with operations both on and off the water, every member of our team shares one important priority: keeping everyone safe while ensuring you have the best possible experience.
You'll also spot Julius, our newest boat driver, out on the water supporting activities and helping everything run smoothly.
If you see any of our new team members during your visit, be sure to say hello!
Learning to Waterski & Wakeboard This Summer
The recent warm weather has seen more people than ever giving waterskiing and wakeboarding a go, and it's been fantastic to watch so many beginners take to the water.
Whether you're looking to stand up for the very first time, improve your technique or simply enjoy time out on the lake, our experienced instructors are here to help you build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
If you've been thinking about trying watersports, there's never been a better time to get involved.
Refuel at The Cafe at the Lake
After a swim, paddle or ski session, why not stop by The Cafe at the Lake?
Serving a range of hot and cold drinks, breakfast favourites, light lunches, sweet treats and ice creams, it's the perfect place to relax while taking in the views across the lake.
Whether you're visiting for activities or simply looking for somewhere peaceful to enjoy a coffee, everyone is welcome.
A Reminder About Water Safety
With warmer weather encouraging more people to enjoy open water, we'd like to remind everyone that safety always comes first.
At Longside Lake, we're proud to provide a professionally managed freshwater lake with trained staff, dedicated safety procedures and a team committed to making every visit as safe as possible.
Please remember to:
-
Always follow instructions from our team.
-
Swim only during designated sessions.
-
Wear the appropriate safety equipment for your activity.
-
Never enter the water outside of supervised opening hours.
-
Stay within the marked activity areas.
-
Listen to your body and don't push beyond your ability.
Open water is incredibly rewarding, but it deserves respect. By following a few simple safety guidelines, we can all continue enjoying the lake throughout the summer.
